So far in 2024, at least 25 firms have raised $17.3B in new VC funds, with 11 exceeding $500M

At least 25 firms have announced new VC funds so far this year, bringing more than $17 billion in combined investment power to the biopharma industry.
The largest of these was Flagship Pioneering’s $3.6 billion raise announced in July, comprising $2.6 billion for Fund VIII and $1 billion for side funds. Next came Arch Venture Partners’ $3 billion for Fund XIII, followed by the year’s most recent fund close, Forbion’s combined €2.1 billion ($2.3 billion) for its venture and growth funds, announced Tuesday. …
