A trio of papers from two different groups has converged on LDL receptor decoy strategies to treat or prevent a wide range of alphavirus infections.

With one vaccine recently approved for a single member of the genus, and no available antivirals, alphaviruses remain endemic in tropical regions and cause sporadic outbreaks in other regions including North America.
