 Executive order targets bulk omics transfers to China

President Joe Biden Wednesday signed an executive order that could restrict the activities of BGI and other Chinese genomics companies in the U.S., while reducing pressure on Democrats in Congress to support legislation that targets Chinese contract development and manufacturing organizations such as WuXi AppTec and WuXi Biologics.

The Biden administration explicitly rejected broad commercial or scientific decoupling with China.
